I don't know how many of you have used a soft cup, but basically it is a less permanent version of a menstrual cup and has a soft plastic underside (you can actually have sex with them still in, apparently). I've been using one on and off for half a year, and in the beginning, it was perfect! I could use one all day for about 8 hours. But for some reason, during my last few cycles, I keep getting leaks after only 3-4 hours! It is really annoying, and I don't know what to do. Maybe my technique for positioning it has changed? I have noticed when I go to... "retrieve it" the cup has slipped from behind my pubic bone, and that is probably why it leaks. But this didn't start happening until a few months ago. Did my body change? I'm kind of annoyed, and will probably just order an actual menstrual cup after this week is over :/

Soft cup won't stop leaking!
Hi everyone,
I don't know how many of you have used a soft cup, but basically it is a less permanent version of a menstrual cup and has a soft plastic underside (you can actually have sex with them still in, apparently). Hi Pepperminty,
I can't offer you any advice on soft cups, but I can tell you that I use the diva cup II. I researched various brands before making the purchase, and if I had it to do over, I'd stick with this one. I read reviews from several users saying there was a learning curve and it took them a couple of months to get it inserted correctly every time. I had never used cups, soft or permanent, prior to making the purchase and have never encountered any problems or issues with leaking or correct insertion.
There were tons of positive reviews on amazon, but as with any product, there is never a perfect solution for 100% of the masses. Knowing you can't please everyone, I decided to filter through a few of the one star reviews. If you need a really good laugh, search Diva Cup II at amazon, look in the one star review section and find the one written by Ben Dover! It'll become apparent very quickly that this review was not written by a man but a woman with an enormous sense of humor. I honestly had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard before reaching the end of her plight, and even then, she was game to try it again.

I haven't used a softcup myself, and I'm not sure why it would work for you and then suddenly change, but it's possible that it's too soft and flexible so it's not fully expanding in the vagina. I had a lot of trouble with the bigger cups like Luna and Diva, but I've had excellent luck with the cups from a company called MeLuna because you can get then in all kinds of sizes, softness, and grips (unfortuantely I think they only ship within Europe.) You may have more luck with a bigger, more firm cup.Comment
