    Yeast Infection and Oral Thrush

Been dealing with a yeast infection since May 3rd, 2023. In June it got into my mouth causing oral thrush. I’ve been on fluconazole and Itraconazole for months. And high doses too. As soon as I stop taking medication the symptoms return within a few days. I’m am now using boric acid nightly, using nystatin suppositories in the morning and a vaginal probiotic in the afternoon. Along with CanXida pills, estrogen balancing pills, liver cleanse, immune boosting pills (all from Naturopath).
I’m on a strict diet. No sugar no alcohol no gluten no yeast.

Been called crazy by two (out of 6) doctors but finally have been referred to infectious disease. Waiting on appointment. Been to ER twice because I couldn’t take it anymore. Al tests come back negative for yeast because I’ve been on medication. Waiting on a Gyno appointment, which is taking forever.
it’s driving me crazy. I have good and bad days. But I’m itchy, uncomfortable and layers of yeast also build on my tongue and my inner cheeks feel weird all the time.

anyone survive this? Anyone know the cure? zz0.hb2kt5pj88jzz

Welcome to WH Interactive Forums. When I was young the cure for oral thrush was painting the area with gentian violet (crystal violet). It has been listed lately as a Proposition 65 carcinogen in California but it is still on the World Health Organization's list of essential medicines per Wikipedia. I have read the Proposition 65 fact sheet and my opinion is that the case is not proven. If it was so bad, my entire generation (Baby Boom) would have died of cancer long ago, but that is just my opinion. I have a good supply of it and I use it as necessary, always externally, but I remember it being used on my younger brother and sister and maybe on myself. I have also seen it used for keeping cuts and abrasions from getting infected, which it does quite well because it stays on so good. Ask your physician about it as I am not a physician and cannot give medical advice. Maybe older physicians would have more direct knowledge of it and how to use it. I sometimes get a yeast infection (I'm diabetic) in my genital area or stomach fold and it aways stops it immediately. It does stain severely so make sure that anything contacting it is ok with being stained.

Thank you very much for responding. I think gentian violet is the only thing I haven’t tried yet. I live in Canada and I don’t believe they sell it anymore because it was listed as cancerous. I will see if I can order it online.
Thank you again. Any advice helps.

I have got it through Amazon and I think I also got some on eBay. I get the 1% solution and that has worked fine for me. The 2% solution is harder to find, is more expensive and it may irritate but in some cases it might be what is needed. It is quite a bit more expensive than it was ten years ago but is still reasonable.
