Kgirl you KNOW I've got the same problem~~~

The other day, he asked me out of the blue " don't you have holes in your ears?", I have two actually, just don't always wear earings "around the house"... So my guess is shirt, he's buying me earings. Actually we were walking through shops at the time, and Valentines Day hit out on all windows...

So, what do you buy a guy for the first time? When you think he's doing that? Exactly, Valentines Day is a man made thing I said this last year, a way to create revenue for shops and it sucks big time...

    Cards are fun but ahhhhh....

It's easy for a guy, I think flowers, sexy underwear (not after 1 month ) but you know, dinner etc. But for a woman? mmmm thinking cap on ....
Question for ky (and CW, and all the other ladies),

You know much more about the guys you're with (and yes even if it's a month or so) what makes you believe that they are expecting a gift in return?

Or is it a question of what do you want to get them. In that case, how about something they would appreciate, even if it's non monetary. Or if it's just a card, wouldn't they appreciate more what you wrote on the inside (and yes you are allowed to write in them after you buy them) that would be more special to them.

You know the saying, "It's the thought that counts"

Well, at least it does to me.

Well, for me, I think he "expects" he has to give one, I would love to say, it's all in a card, that's my preference if you even think of doing anything and visa versa, it's man made.

But, if he says "but I want to" and we're pretty much in sync, that I believe that will be the case, he likes to give, then I would be wondering what personal thing I can also then get, (as I understand if someone wants to do something, let them), that he can keep? That's not over the top but special.

      I DON'T LIKE VALENTINES DAY lol's.

I think valentines day could be a little more stressful for a guy given the stigma attached to that day. Personally I like to spoil my SO off and on anyway, so a valentines day surprise isn't hard for me to come up with, but I do agree tht some people put to much emphasis on a single day.

Like KM suggest, feeling out your guy's position on it casually is a good way to go. Even though limited to what I can do this valentines day, i'm certainly excited for it

Luckily my bf and I see eye to eye on Valentines.. we usually don't do anything spectacular. I might make him his favorite kind of cookies, or get him his favorite cologne.. something like that. He'll get me some wildflower boquet, or buy me my fav. caramel corn.

          Just little things.

Last year we decided to make a fun joke of the whole "ROMANCE REQUIRED" Valentines Day junk by doing almost like a white elephant gift exchange. I got him a whoopie cushion. He got me a bull horn. It was completely random, and so funny. Especially when you blow the whoopie cushion into the bullhorn... and a great Valentines Day was had

I am about into Valentine's Day as I am Groundhog Day. I just don't get it, sooo when me and my bf were talking about whatever the other day, I think he brought up V-Day, I told him just that, takes the pressure off him to go all out. I'm sure we'll do something for each other, but I like to keep it at a minimum, non-big deal. We show each other we love each other on a daily basis, we don't need a holiday for that. For you, I would just bring it up when you see something about V-Day together. Just say, you know V-Day is made out to be such a big deal, I just don't get it. How we just blah, blah.....

For me its always worked to just bring it up when the thought comes to mind. if you keep waiting for the right moment, then it might be too late because he might have bought something he cant return. but next time you talk just tell him, how you feel about the holiday. Chances are he'll be relieved about the whole thing as well because he wont have as much pressure on his shoulders.

I ended up sending him an invite to a restaurant for next Saturday night for dinner

                  It basically said:

"I figured there was no better way to say 'hey I think you're kind of cool' than going out to share a meal on another over-commercialized holiday. If you're feeling really romantic, we can even watch South Park."

And he said yes So, whew...V Day pressure over.

(and the South Park thing is an inside joke and I knew he'd like it )

                  Yay for Valentine's Day!

You guys can poke me in the eye with a sharp stick for saying this but... almost every single day is like valentines day for me and my guy... so its really hard to think of something to do to make the day special... because we try to make every single day special in one way or another.

My first valentines day with him, we'd only been serious for a few months and I didn't want to do too much and didn't want to do not enough either. I think something small, but thoughtful is the way to go in that situation.

Take some naughty pics of yourself (not too naughty, just fun and flirty) and print them out on glossy paper and use them to wrap a bottle of massage oil for a gift.. massage included

Get him a bottle of his favorite drink wrapped in valentine paper....

Tickets to a movie that you both want to see, stuffed inside a card telling him how much fun he brings to your life..

Load his fridge with his favorite snacks and goodies , beer whatever... with a small card attached to the fridge.

Bake him something at home and bring it over wearing something sexy...

All of those things are thoughtful, not too spendy... and more fun than serious.. a reflection of what stage your relationship is likely in.

Those are all super ideas HD I think I'm going to make him a cheesy little card out of construction paper that says Will You Be My Valentine? and get him a little gift card to the place he gets coffee almost every morning
