Never said the L word
I have been with my younger BF now for over 12 months but he has never said he loves me - he says stuff like "your great", "I love spending time with you" but he hasnt said the L word and I if I say anything like "I'm gunna miss you over the next few days" (or something like that) he says "argh bless, my girls going all soppy" and we make a joke about it. My friends seem to have blokes saying it about five minutes after they meet!! I want to say it to him but if he didnt say it back - how (EDIT) would I feel?? Is it a big deal if we just dont say it? We get on so great and have such a laugh together - waht do you think? Mountain out of mole hill? LOL!!! -

I agree, it's less about what you say (although important) than what you do.
Both are important but in their own due.Last edited by CHANDLERS WISH; 05-19-2010, 02:27 AM.Comment

It's possible that he is as nervous as you are, and waiting for you to say it first.
If you love him tell him, if he doesn't say it back just yet then it's not the end of the relationship.. But it will let him know where you stand.sigpic☮“I am convinced that the women of the world, united without any regard for national or racial dimensions, can become a most powerful force for international peace and brotherhood.â€☮Comment

I got married and don't think I've ever said I love you to my husband. He's said it once after I'd been in the ER and hospitalized for 24hours without them knowing the cause. Personally i much prefer that over the guys that have said it within the first week. It doesn't seem sincere when you are running around saying it constantly or before the relationship really gets serious.Comment

Maybe its because all of my friends seem to fall in love so quickly and the guys they meet seem to be all lovey dovey, hearts and flowers - but we get on so good and he is so loving and it's just a niggle that we dont say it. I was talking about moving away to live near my mom and commute and he said "please dont move away, you'll meet someone else and I will miss you" which I thought was so cute because he isnt usually mushy. Then we will be sitting watching tv and he will say "your my girl and dont you ever forget it." and I just laugh and say it back.....you know what? I just realised as I am typing that I dont need him to say it..Pretzels right - what he does and what he says speaks volumes
