    Help! 2nd Shift Boyfriend

Help! My long-term boyfriend has just got a job working second shifts... long second shifts (4p-3a, M-Sa)... six days a week. I have a normal job working normal hours, and I am at an absolute loss. Unless I don't sleep at night I DO NOT see him except on Sundays. Beyond that, he has two children from a previous relationship that he does not get to see except on Sundays as well, so time is split between me and the kids. Is there any way to make this work???

been there, done that..well you can't add more hours to a week, so the only thing you can do really is plan for the hours you do have together and make the most of them..good luck

It seems like your common time will be from 3 a.m. something when he gets home until you have to get ready to go to work. That would suggest you go to bed around 7 p.m. or so. Not great, but do-able. He will probably be tired when he gets home. Hopefully he will save some energy for you. Some people get up at 3 a.m. to get in on their normal day shift. He seems to want to make a go of it by working hard.

Agreed. My boyfriend works out of town during the week and has his kid on the weekends. The only time we see one another is Fridays nights for a couple of hours and Sunday nights for a few hours. And he's exhausted at those times. Try to understand the position he's in. It probably won't last forever, so stressing about it and putting more stress on him will only make it worse. Try to make the most of the short amount of time you do have together.
