HIM: "Why hello Ali! my brother lives in ***city and went to uni there too, what are you doing your undergrad in? i am working in ***city but do a lot of travel through out Latin America as most of my clients are down there. it's a pretty cushy gig so I'm not complaining, gets me out of the snow and on the beach that's for sure...what are your plans when you return back to the city? job or summer off?"
ME: "well, *** city is a nice quite town, but its a bit of an acquired taste, when i first moved here i didn't like it too much, but i slowly warmed up to it. I'm doing my undergrad in blah blah and have to finish a 12 month work term as part of the prog requirement, and i hope to find something in blah blah so i can stay in the city for the tome being..you know I'm glad to hear that you enjoy what you do, especially since you are in banking, most people in IB that i know of often complain about the crazy stress an the notorious work hours. all the traveling must keep you super busy, do you get home sick? have you ventured outside of Latin America?"
NO RESPONSE- i saw him log into the account so he clearly read the message! but he didn't respond and the week after that the subscription expired. its been a month since i last wrote to him, I'm back on the website on another free trail and I'm thinking of dropping him a line and just asking how he's been? should i do it? would it be too much? would i come off as too interested/strong? or should i just let it go?
