crappy ex + already low self esteem = complex...how do i warn my current bf about it?
my ex was the type of guy who was never happy with what he had. we did love each other, but we just werent compatible so it wasnt going to work. anyway, he tried to shape me into the girlfriend that he wanted, instead of accepting me for who i was. when he finally realized i wasnt perfect, our relationship slowly started to fall apart, and he started looking elsewhere. being borderline-inappropriate flirtatious with other girls, seeing other girls that he thought would be a better girlfriend and fantasizing about a life with them, lovely stuff like that. it took a real toll on my self esteem, because i loved him deeply and wanted to be perfect for him, and he let me know (literally and subconsciously) that i wasnt. now i definitely have a complex about having a boyfriend who isnt satisfied by me and begins looking for the qualities i lack in other women. physical cheating doesnt scare me, but that emotional/psychologically "omg this other girl is so amazing...wow i think im falling in love with her" is what i worry about. crazy? yes. obviously i have low self esteem...i try very hard to not let my imagination get the best of me, but sometimes it is hard. anyway, i want to find a way to tell my current bf about this without seeming like a basket case. he is a much better boyfriend than the last, and i know he does truly love me for me, but i worry that this craziness in my brain will come out anyway at some point, and i just want him to understand why. is there any way to randomly say "hey lets talk about my ex boyfriend and how our screwed up relationship ruined my brain, just so you know whats going on in case i ever go off the deep end"? lol
