    Dating again.

    Hi everyone!

After a painful on/off "relationship" with a guy (one who kept disappearing), I ended things several months ago and with the urging of a friend, recently decided to try online dating. So far it's going well. I haven't met anyone in person yet, and I'm taking it slow (after several e-mails back and forth with one guy, he gave me his number and we've been texting. We agreed that if we continue to be comfortable texting, we'll talk on the phone, and after that for awhile, maybe meet in a public place for some lunch)

Ex boyfriend still sometimes shows up unexpectedly in my life in some ways. (Being flirty via Facebook or something) I don't think it's in a shady way. He has Asperger's and sometimes reappears to me once his interests in other things fade. I haven't replied or responded in anyway, but a part of me doesn't want to delete him either, because 1) Part of me still misses him...or rather, the idea of him. 2) After all the stuff we've been through, he's still a good guy and was such a good friend as well. I don't want to hurt him or his feelings.

When I flirted with another man--and enjoyed it--I cried later on. Even though my ex and I broke up around the holidays and we haven't seen each other in months, I knew he wasn't with anyone and I felt so guilty for trying to move on. Are these feelings normal?

Yes, these feelings are normal, but you're making it more difficult on yourself than you should. If you won't stop communicating with your ex you won't be able to move on. You have to make a decision. Either keep him in your life, even if that means only on Facebook, and wait with dating until you don't think about him anymore (which can take anything from months to years, if ever) or block him on Facebook, say goodbye and move on. Your ex only turns up in your life because you let him.

I agree, they are normal but you broke up for a reason, a good reason.

The fact you enjoy the flirting means you want to find someone else.

But I also agree, you are allowing him to control you still. You do not owe him anything, including "guilt".. You owe yourself to move on and find happiness.

It's time to allow yourself to grow and to let go... Delete him .

He will find someone else, as you said when he has lost interest in things months later, he facebooks you.. That's not right is it, in any event.
