    Girl I'm dating wants time to "miss me" (LOOKING FOR WOMEN'S INPUT)

    SORRY FOR THE LONG POST, BUT THE DETAILS ARE QUITE NECESSARY AND BRING THE SITUATION TO LIGHT

    Hello all,

    I am looking for women's input on my situation as it may bring to light certain things that us men don't see. So here it goes;

    I have been seriously dating this GIRL for a few months now. Everything always went perfectly smooth. We would always have great time on dates and she tells me that she's very much enjoying herself with me. We hold hands and kiss, never gotten more physical then that. We also text good morning and good night and throughout the day. Truly was like a fairy tale, she even told me some times that this is too good to be true and I am the perfect guy.

    Problem is that a few weeks ago we had a talk and she told me that she needs time away from me to 'miss me' and she wants to 'feel like she needs me in here life'. She says that when we are together she has a blast and loves it but when we are not together, she doesn't feel like she needs me or anyone around. She says she's ok being single. So she tells me that time apart would be good and hopefully she will realize that she needs me and wants to be with me.

    Now this caught me off guard, I was not expecting this at all. Just 3 days before we were on a date and it was perfect, holding hands and she made the move to kiss me.

    It has now been 3 weeks. I let the first week go by with no contact what so ever, then I decided to send a quick msg saying I was still thinking of her and I missed her. Obviously I go not reply. A few days later I thought I had seen her where I was, so I messaged her and she answered me within seconds, exchanged very brief 2-3 msgs and that's it. Later that night I text her good night and she replies. I let a few days go by and text her good night again but once again no reply. And since then I have not contacted her, it has been just about a week now.

    Now, she did tell me that when she comes back to me it's because she is ready and wants to be in a relationship with me. We have also previously mentioned us being in a serious relationship and she tells me that that's what she wants eventually. So here are my questions;

    1) By her not reply to me or initiating any contact with me a means of her living by those words, in the sense that she won't talk to me until she truly is ready for a relationship, or at this point she has just given up on us and telling me to move on?

    2) Is it normal for a girl to want something like this? (take time to be apart and feel like you need them)

    3) Is the amount of time (3 weeks) nothing to worry about or it has become too long and should be of concern?

    4) Any advice on how to handle the situation from here?

    A minor detail to mention, is that she is younger then me. She is 20 and I am 25.

    Your input would really help me out.

    Thanks!

      A key word here is " Girl ".
      You don't say " Woman ". So .. you are looking for a Girl to have a Relationship with .

      She sounds like a " Player " not ready to commit to or want an exclusive relationship.. I'm not saying " Player " in a Negative, but more as You aren't the " Zing, Fell in Love at First Kiss " kind.
      Which is awesome ...as if you find she is not your " Zing" you won't have a Clingy, low self esteemed, can't survive without you and have your own life with buddies " , kind of Hang on Girl.

      Stay in General contact, don't beg, and go ahead and start dating others. If she truly misses you and thinks you might be worth some investment of her time in an relationship , she definitely will let you know .

      She is young at 20, and you are young at 25. To me .. lol I'm old, but called wise .

        I have to agree with BabyGirl on this one. It sounds like the roles of the sexes are reversed in your relationship -- where she doesnt' want to have to commit to a relationship, because she has a fear of committment and you want that relationship because it feels good. Unfortunately, it seems that you are now having doubts about yourself and low self-esteem, which are many feelings and emotions that us women have in relationships. From what you said it sounds like you are being clingy and insecure too. It sucks when us women have those feelings and emotions and since I, a woman, have experienced them numerous times I can relate to you. What worked for me when I have been in relationships where those feelings and emotions came up, I struggled to get through it. What I did was spent time alone processing it and then spent time bonding and connecting with my girlfriends. Eventually, I got over it and started dating other men again and felt much happier.

        Good luck.

          There are so many different answers, but mine is simple: go out and meet new people, have fun & occupy yourself with Life. At 20 I was married & determined to make it work, but had a partner who wasn't on the same level even though he had 8 years on me. I learned that it's not the age that matters, it's the level, the connection. But do not linger on this one girl & miss out on enjoying your Life.
