I spoke to her psychiatrist today at a "Family Meeting" They want her to stay through the weekend while they get her stabilized on a different medicine as the first one was causing vivid, morbid dreams. Insurance said no but they are appealing it. This means she will likely be home on Monday.Comment

She is now due to be released this morning. I know she has a lot going on but there are a few things bothering me. Despite the separation we talk daily. I gave up on reaching her at the institution. I told her I call and call the payphone - no answer, every time I call the nurses they get ****ed off and you are in group, lunch, dinner or otherwise unavailable. You have to call me. I will break out of whatever meeting I am in and take the call. Since Thursday she hasn't called except a half assed effort to wish me a happy birthday at the last minute 9:45PM on Saturday. I was out walking the dog and missed the call. I am not holding it against her but just spilling my guts as to what's bothering me today.
I called the marriage therapist and said we would resume the therapy next week. I need this week to get my life back in order as does she. She might want to go this week but we can't because we need to switch the night from Thursday since that is when I will be going to the Bipolar support group.Comment

This may be frustrating but they may truly keep her busy enough to make calling difficult. She is adjusting to the meds and to the diagnosis and may just need some buffer time. You may need the contact to feel connected or keep some sense of control in what must seem a very out of control situation but she may be needing a little space. Learning that you having bi-polarism must be quite a hit and a lot to come to grip with.Comment

Good Luck
Hey LostinNJ welcome! I was reading your post and I'm in the same place in my relationship you are now. I'm not sure your age but I'm 22 years old. We got engaged last year but we decided to step back and put it on hold for awhile and started counsoling yesterday. We only went one time because it was so expensive for us. However I wish I could continue at least for myself. IF you read my other posts you'll see where our problems lie and the situation is. However if you think cousoling will work and can afford it I sugguest you two keep going. Good Luck and Best wishes!Life's a dance you learn as you go
