    I get what you're saying, he wanted to break and you felt like if sort of "if you love something set it free, if it comes back it was meant to be".

    He may be the love of your life, he may truly be. He may also not be the love of your life, and maybe him breaking things off was the path you needed to find the real love of your life. However, if it were me, I couldn't go on feeling like you do in silence. I'd do what Sourpuss suggested, write him a letter. Then it's 100% in his hands, you've done all you can do.

    If within a reasonable amt of time he doesn't reciprocate,, you need to seriously think about moving forward in your life without him.
