Could my ex be missing me?
My ex and I were together for 3 years and he ended our 2 year relationship a month and a half ago. Ever since he broke up with me he's been ignoring me and being just a plain jerk . I still love him so to be fair I gave him his wishes to not talk to him again. Well two days ago I got a random phone call from him. He was complaining about of how nervous he was to be starting the police academy and asked me how I was doing. I asked him why he called me and he said it was because he felt sorry for me...but I didn't say anything or nag him after he said that. The 21 min conversation ended and I did feel as though he missed me (just a little). The next night I got a random text message from him that said "good night". He used to always tell me good night when we were together so why is he doing this now. I just replied "night" to not be a jerk. When he broke up with me he said he didn't love me anymore and that he never wants to talk to me or see me ever again. Even though I think he misses me, I just have a gut feeling that he's only doing this because I'm his sisters confirmation sponsor and that I will have to see him this up coming september. What do you all think about this? -
I think you are correct.
September is not far away, he knows he has to see you and it has been bought up, so that meant he though of you.
What you have to see though is that he stated, "he didn't love you, didn't want to see you again and he only called because he feels sorry for you", so why you would want to be with someone like that in any event. Be tough, strong... Tell him to quit bugging you and move on with his life and you move on with yours.
Unfortunately, when you have been together for some time you think that's all there is out there.
When however you move on you wonder what you saw in the past person, trust me

He doesn't want to be friends, I asked him that way back when he broke up with me but he said no. Plus whenever he saw me even after the relationship ended he couldn't keep his hands off me. Normally when we used to see each other once a week he would say that he missed me. Who knows what's going on in his head. Maybe now since he actually started training at the police academy, he realizes and misses how I would always ask him how his day was and how I would always cheer him up without him even having to tell me that he had a hard day. Since I realized dwelling on him wasn't healthy I cut off my communication with him. But now he's communicating with me...Which is funny because 2 weeks ago he would hang up the phone on me and ignore my text msg's...and now the roles have switched.Comment

Just let it lay there. Don't respond unless it's something like questions regarding the confirmation. Be pleasant. polite and distant. If he is changing his mind, he needs to come to you and talk to you about it. He may be finding that other women aren't just lining up for him but you don't need to be he back up plan.Comment

O if he EVER asks me back out he will have to wait. He does tell me that girls don't talk to him but that's BS. He is a very very very good looking guy and when I was with him a lot of girl's at the stores would come up and start talking to him out of the blue. Where ever we went there were girls that would pass by us and say he's cute or hot. Even when we were going out this one girl wouldn't leave him alone. I know that he'll never have a problem finding a gorgeous woman. But I am keeping it simple. I replied "night and have a good day tomorrow". Just because some one treated me wrong doesn't mean I'm going to change who I am and be mean. So I will stay respectful but keep my distance as well. But he did have to shave his head HAHAHAHA so what you said is probably true (I just remember :>). Plus I've been exercising and loosing weight, I'm going shopping to get a whole new wardrobe this friday and my hair has grown long and beautiful. But if another guy asks me out i'm going to stay single and continue going to school to become a dermatologist.
And thanks for the advice.
