Does he have work lined up in Australia? Or is he thinking you can both be unemployed there? What would you do live off savings?

Tell to go on ahead, find work, get settled into it and in 6 - 12 months the two of you can see what you want at that time.

Do Not just walk away from your career.

DO NOT get blinded by your love for him. DO NOT move to Australia even if he offers you commitment/marriage (which he isn't anyway as of yet). D

DO NOT walk away from your family, your career and what you really want for yourself. 4 years is long enough to know what a person wants in a relationship, and it looks to me like he's been stringing you along for too long.

Wait for him to get settled there and then see how things would turn out. Then you decide.

I think you've been given excellent advice by the others on this site! But, it's so sad when you love somebody and have to let them go. I know it's an old cliche but, you know, "the path of true love never did run smooth.." (actually, it's Shakespeare now I come to think of it!) If you set boundaries about not leaving your secure job and family to go to Aussie (yeah..I live here!) without a job (and there are strict visa requirements too - you can't just march in these days) and without a firm marital commitment you might get a surprise with a counter-offer. But, if you don't ask or expect anything more in a relationship chances are you'll never get this. There's an old saying: "if it works for you keep doing it'. This is HIS thinking - he's been getting sex and intimacy so far without a commitment and, like many men nowadays, expects its going to continue on his terms. Girls, there's a wake-up call for all of you here!!

          Best of luck.

Another cliche along Seniora's lines: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." he has his cake and gets to eat it too so why change?
