One time a guy thought it would be hilarious to joke about the fact that he WASN'T getting me a birthday present. He handed me a marble from his glove compartment and began telling some ridiculous story about how in every penguin colony, the alpha male goes out in search of the most precious stone he can find to bring it back to his mate and that this particular marble that had been a piece of junk in his beat up car for three years was his stone to me.
