I did have one friend that was a local national, but we had some issues and she says that she doesn't want to ever see or talk to me again. I am not sure what happened there. Majority of the military spouses that I have met have, well, been drama queens or backstabbers. Which makes everything more difficult when I try to get out and make new friends. I really don't ever leave the house much because I just don't need or want the drama. As for the chick that lectured me, she won't talk or look at me now. I donno what her problem is.

My experiences with military wives/girlfriends have been really black and white. There are some awfulterrible women out there, trashy and mean. And then there are some saints. Obviously, seek out the saints (and don't mention your sexuality until you are sure you'll be well-received.) Maybe you can also seek out American expatriates or students studying abroad for extended periods to make friends with too?
I had forgotten you were a military wife when I answered - "cheating" is a very destructive force in the military, not just for families, but for everyone in the unit who has to be around the "cheated-on" spouses. There is a knee-jerk supernegative reaction to anything that someone deems "cheating," even if, in your relationship, you have laid down rules that make it A-OK. This is one to keep to yourself, save face, and save your husband's career, because other people aren't necessarily going to understand in the strict social atmosphere the military has created.
