    What is this guy saying?

I'm an incoming college student and there's this guy I have been talking to (it's been for a month) since we're going to the same college..
I feel that for some reason his msgs were a bit insulting and started to wonder if it's reasonable of me to feel that way...
I usually am not too hurt by other's words but this one hit me quite hard..... Should I feel that way regarding this????

Also, what do you guys think he's trying to say when he said "I'd do well"? And do you think he has the impression that I like him
more than a friend? I truly have no such intentions so I was wondering if there's something I did to mislead him into that thinking...
My guy friends whom I asked have told me to stay away from the guy because they think that he's simply just trying to get into my pants.
He has invited me to study with him and to couple of the house parties but
Do you guys think that's the case? and should I follow my friends' warnings?

This is the conversation between me and him

    HIM
I could probably tell you that you're in the friend zone forever

    ME
Lol friend zone? I dont mind that! Nothing can go wrong with that

    HIM
    good to hear
I'll probably be pulling a lot
I need more swag, but people have told me I'll get a LOT of numbers soon

    ME
    The ladies want you hahahahahaha

    HIM
    They do
I need to calm down a lot more, though
show me how what do girls like?
in a guy who is apparently super attractive to girls
people told me that girls find me attractive haha

    ME
Lol xD they like guys who actually care!!!!! Douchebags = turn off

    HIM
I can tell you this cuz you're in the friend-zone for me lol
    I'm no dbag
    I go hard
    harder than hard JK
I like learning and having a good time when no one talks **** to me teehee

    ME
Yaaay friend zone! I like that! Feel a lot safer. Anything more than that usually bothers me.

    HIM
    It shouldn't.
you should really want male attention right now
the serious type because I actually know people that know you and you would do well

    ME
    small world...

    HIM
I can tell you this cuz you're a friend
    just friends

    ME
    Hahaha thanks bro! Hahaha okee!

    HIM
You would do well and get all of the yoked Brandons of the world if you wanted them

    ME
But male attention isnt my department though... If someone comes along I wont shut the option but
it's just not my thing because the boundaries towards the no side has been strongly defined...
I'll see when Im ready to break that Lol Brandons xD thats funny

    HIM
The Brandons (a mututal friend) would want to get with you - not to be vulgar
I must now sleep. Good Night Sir.

    ME
    Lol good night dude

Ick, I don't know if I'm just crabby because the coffee maker broke this morning or what... but this guy sounds like a arrogant little dbag, to put it not-so-eloquently.

I doubt there are any "brandons" that he's referring to in existence, he's talking about himself, and he wants you to be one of the "numbers"

My opinion? Keep this "friend" at a distance until he gets over himself. Listen to your other (real) friends, listen to your gut. From this little snippet of your conversation here, he's just looking to make you a conquest.

I'd tell him to take his "swag" (is this a new saying now BTW? It's worse then YOLO) and shove it up his ***.

You're right btw, girls DO like guys that actually care. (If they're looking for something real anyway) Dbags=huge turn off. Sounds like your "friend" is going to learn this the hard way. (you know, like my cousin who went to college and now can't get a decent woman in the least and is totally burned out at 25. Warn him that this is his future.) Truthfully? I'd stay away from him. He doesn't deserve you.

Ok relieved to know that I'm not crazy!

But then is the so-called "friend zone" an excuse so he can seem like he has a lot of girls trying to chase him? Because when I talked with him I felt like one of his dude friends in his frat house. He tends to tell me about other girls he's met and how they seemed like they were after him because they were like holding his hand and stuff. But he expressed his lack of interest towards them... Even asked me to be his scapegoat (pretty much) and hang with him because he wanted to avoid hanging with the girl who was apparently after him....

I'm usually pretty laid back and sometimes even a bit comfortable with guys because an overwhelming majority of my friends are guys so im used to being the only girl out of like 3-4 or in some cases like 10 guys in the group. Do you think this is also a safe habit in college.

Btw swag is like another word for like cool style.... Hahaha it was there before YOLO but yeah it's not as awesome as manY think it is...

I still think he's playing games. He's doing the whole "look how many women want me - so you should want me too" thing. Add to that, he tells you he wants to use you as a scapegoat for girls he isn't interested in. Why would he say that, other than to put a thought in your mind of you two together? A man with as much "swag" as he claims to have would have no problem turning a girl down without help.

Sorry hun - he may be just a friend to you, but you are most certainly NOT just a friend to him. He'll try getting in your pants if he can get away with it. Don't fall for it.

Good question. I was actually wondering about that too... I certainly should be cautious when I am around this guy... I have been a little bit distant with him lately because I have been really busy getting ready for the year so I guess this also has been a way to help me think how I should deal with him in the future.... You certainly do have a good point that he shouldnt have a problem with dealing with other women if he really claims to be what he is....

I will make sure not to fall for that as well... My friends agreed to accompany me if I ever hang around this guy so I think it may be a bit harder for him to have that leeway.... Im just a bit confused that he doesnt see me as a friend as he says.... But maybe I should have caught that earlier in our older 6-7 hr conversations regarding our viewpoints in political affairs and world history...

He sounds like a player or thinks he is one. I would even stay out of the friend zone.

wooooooow this sounds JUST like my old boyfriend. my ex would always read things on the internet about "gaming" girls. a lot of it teaches what you're telling us. [link removed - not allowed. Read the rules!] apparently it works because my ex and i were in a relationship for ~2 years and i enjoyed it. we broke up because things werent working out
