    co-worker behaviour-is it innocent?

    Hi,

I started working about 2 months ago at this new place. The guy that accepted me (co-worker not supervisor) has become a very good friend. We car lift every day to work together. Some of the conversations are less innocent (mainly on my part). I am single and he is married.
Due to a religious holiday we aren't working 2 days. We ordered by post something and it arrived the day before the holiday. Last night he suddenly phoned me to tell me that what we received isn't working. I was kinda surprised that he phoned and didn't send an email or SMS (not that it bothered me).
Then a few minutes later he phones again if I can help him as his parents are at the airport and they forgot their passports at home. So he had to go to their city (about 15-20 mins away from where we live) to fetch the passports and then back to the airport. I have a company car and he doesn't so he asked if he can use my car. So I went with him. What I don't understand is how his wife doesn't mind. Under what circumstances wouldn't you mind your husband feeling comfortable with another woman that you don't even know?

If i was the wife i would have told him to use his own car!

Does she trust him that much? I am confused by last night. I personally love being with him so I didn't mind

    Welcome to the Forum.

I'm kind of curious firstly, what was ordered by post? That may help answer if the phone call was warranted.

You also say you car pool, he hired you, yet only you have a Company car, not him?

The airport is a personal problem and he has a car, so I feel that was a deliberate first phone call and the second was fake, he could have driven.

I don't know if his wife trusts him, after all when you are married you are "meant" to trust your partner , or any solid relationship, it seems she does.

But, you have stated that you are talking about things to a married man that you shouldn't. You know men are human.. Do you think you are doing the right thing? If you entice, you may get what you hope for but is that the right thing?

    To you.
    Him.
    Her.

    Something to consider, sweet.

Look forward to hearing more about this.

      Thanks for the response

      Hi,

      Thanks for replying.

We ordered phone chargers over the internet. I ordered them instead of making 2 separate orders.
Yea, I agree that talking to him about other things is wrong and should stop.
About the car, he decided that he would rather have his own car and not a company car.
You think the phone calls were an excuse to speak?

How do you know his wife even knows what he is doing? You can only go by what he says...

Does he act the same with other people at the office as he does with you? How do you think he views you, as a friend or potential playmate?

What would you do if he came onto you?

You don't have to answer these questions here, just a little something to consider maybe...
I am going to tell you what you don't want to hear!
Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't

there's a good chance he hasn't told his wife exactly what he was doing and with whom. Or maybe she does trust him, because he is her husband, she loves him and she is supposed to trust him.

What has transpired between you and your coworker seems innocent enough, thus far... however, it has the potential to get out of hand very easily. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the company of your coworkers, I mean, heck, many times we see them more than we see our significant others - we're bound to make friendships.

However, only you know how innocent your own intentions are.
