Mom starts arguments all the time!
I"m a 25 year old who is living with her mom, adopted 3 yrold cousin/sister, and moms husband. I have been dealing with my mom always putting me down for the way i look, what i do or dont do to satisfy her, or jobs that havent worked out recently due to the people i worked for were inappropriate and crazy. She swears its just my fault the jobs ive taken recently failed was bc of me but i tell her the truth always but she says theres always two sides to a story,,I do comply with the rent they make me pay which is the electric bill. She is only worried about if i cleaned house for her and if i bring up anything else to talk about she just shrugs off as if unimportant and a waste of her breath. She is volatile.. Pulled a knife to my throat today.. Says i have a smart a"" mouth, picks fights, tells me shes gonna punch my teeth out of my mouth.. Says shell shoot my dog in the head and kick me out on street. She drinks in excess every night and that is when the fights start usually but she wont stop drinking. Shes been alcholic since a teenager. I have depression, bipolar, manic, past opiate addiction, low self esteem and anxiety issues. I am starting to feel suicidal and i have attempted before when i was 16. My car is currently broke down and im just plain stuck!! Im lonely bc of recent hardships and i need answers/advice??!! Thanks all! -
Her husband also never speaks a word to me unless its about something ive done wrong. Im a piece of **** in his eyes as well. My mom also tells me to call my absent fathrt who i havent seen in Over 20 years to ask for help or money and then exaggerates how much she did for me as a child yet she sent me away to places and gave up custody also when i was 15 yrs old. Places like military school, rehab, halfway house, had me arrested for tryin to get into house when i was under 18. -
Hi Hon,
Your Mother should be ashamed of herself. I am sure she is aware of the problems that you face in life, the insecurity of where you are in life, who you are and the inability to share love with you.
What is she doing adopting her "sisters/brothers" child? If she is an alcoholic and can not raise you, or was unable to.
What do your Auntys and Uncles do? Do you have a Grandmother, Grandfather?
I imagine that you probably see everyone as horrible, I don't blame you and it would be hard to keep a job if you never felt the proper love and you would always worry that someone would upset you or hurt you, no doubt..
Do you really think that your Mother would hurt you? Holding a knife to your throat is frightening and also, being threatened regarding your Dog.
Who within your family knows what you go through and your problems that you have faced?PUT A LITTLE 'LIKE' IN MY SOUL!Comment

My family is not concerned with me and really never has been. I see them on holidays at most. And gparents are only interested in the 3 year old i mentioned before.

Most families only see each other on special occasions and most grandparents off course dote over babies. They would have over you when you were 3.
So, my question is. Where can you go? You are 25, I understand that you suffer from some personal difficulties, but obviously you two can't live together and no one should put a knife to someone's throat or threaten to kill your dog.
But also, no one should ever contemplate committing suicide, see if you try to consider that again? You are letting her win. Why would you want her to win?
Do you have a local Church you could go and speak with?
What sort of jobs were you seeking out? Did you like those jobs just not the people?PUT A LITTLE 'LIKE' IN MY SOUL!Comment

Yes they would have i guess if i actually grew up with them around. I understand shes the baby of the family right now. And i love her very much to. Yes there are churches but im not into the whole religious crowd. My mom just told me i needed to apologize to "her" for wht happened the other night and then said i walk around witha chip,,, but i cant pretend to be ok with anything nor to be happy.. I wld be gone if the car prob was resolved. The jobs were a assistant manager at a restaurant and a nursing ast/ med tech at an in home nursing facility for elderly. I like the work but both were problems with the managers.Comment

Well, that's a good choice of jobs.
I also once, was an Assistant Manager of a Restaurant. Fortunately, then became Manager, though there is always a "boss" above us.
I had trouble prior, as a typist clerk, taking orders. Also, from my Mother. I wonder if you are the same?PUT A LITTLE 'LIKE' IN MY SOUL!Comment
