I text him this morning and no response. I feel like this is absolutely ridiculous. We are adults and should be able to have a civil conversation. I feel like I'm being punished like I'm a child or something. I also feel like he knows that giving me the silent treatment bothers the hell out if me and that's why he does it. I'm sitting here shaking my head because the more I think about it, the angrier I become!!!! I'm gonna continue on with my night and my day tomorrow, I'm to the point now where if we converse, it'll be because he initiates it. Every dog gets tired......

[QUOTE=Pollon;336454]You seem to be assuming that if you care enough about and for him, he will reciprocate. Not going to happen. He does NOT care about you. In his world there is only one standard--what he wants. He is all for HIMSELF. If you want to be all about HIM and none about yourself then stay with him and stop complaining. It seems you want a relationship to be at least partly about you. If so, then you have two options: 1) Leave or 2) Stay and keep banging your head against the wall. Just but don't expect the wall to get a headache.[/QUOTE

I'm a soft-spoken person, and I can't stand arguments with yelling. I'm with you. This is his personality, and it isn't attractive to you, and you've told him this. Without children together, I can't see a reason to stay in this relationship. Don't look back 20 years from now and ask yourself why you continued to put up with it for that 20 years. It's very frustrating for me to talk to him calmly and he begins to yell. It's crazy. I show him all the love in the world and its like it's never enough for him. The slightest little thing sets him off. I am to the point of walking away cause he makes me feel bad a lot of times and I'm plain tired of it. I know that I've busted my rump to make this work but he hasn't put in the same effort at all.Comment

Well as of now, he's making it easy for me to stay away because he hasn't contacted me at all. I'm always the one fixing things even when he's wrong. I can't do that anymore. It has hurt me more than anything. Don't get me wrong, I love him and I would love for things to change, but deep down in my heart I know they won't. It's just sad that he knows how I feel yet he doesn't care enough to acknowledge the role that he played in the demise of this relationship. He always points the finger at me, but I know that's not reality. I'm not by far perfect but I can honestly say that I can walk away knowing I tried my ****edest to make him happy. I'm always chasing him when he behaves like this, not this time. If I don't love me first, who will.....I'm a soft-spoken person, and I can't stand arguments with yelling. I'm with you. Stick with these words. No more texts. No phone calls. No emails. If he calls, don't answer. If he texts, don't respond. Stick with your words. You need time for yourself, single time, for self reflection an growth. It is crucial for you at this point or you will find yourself in relationships just like this one in the future. Gotta learn about yourself and learn to love you...so that you will REQUIRE that someone you're in a relationship with does too.I'm always chasing him when he behaves like this, not this time.
