post break up
Ok Im a 23 year old man i joined this to get a woman's perspective. My Girlfriend (19) of close to 2 years dumped me in a really cruel manner recently. To cut a long story sort She bought me concert tickets for my birthday went to the concert with me stayed in my bed over night after the concert. She gave me my birthday card which had boyfriend on it and wrote a message inside it telling me she loved me. The next day she sent me a text saying she didnt want to be with me anymore that i was to shy and quite and her mother told her that for these reasons i wasnt suitable for her. She went off with a new boy just 2 weeks after the break up. She has been saying some really nasty things about me to mutual friends of ours about me like i never got her anything (totally untrue i never missed a special occasion and always spent big money on her presents), that i wasnt a proper man and was girly (again untrue) and that i didnt like some of her friends which was true because they use to make fun of me the hole time. I just feel totally humiliated, stupid and lonely. I am shy and fear i wont find a new girl who will except me for been me. So any tips for helping me to move on and girls would you date a really shy guy at all -
The problem doesn't lay with you, it lays with her.
You were with her for two years, she was 17 and you 21. So obviously, you can have relationships.
I would state she doesn't have a mind of her own. Her Mother gave her reasons as to why she wasn't suitable to her? Then she went around justifying why she was no longer with you?
Sounds as if her Mother pulls the strings in the house and the nasty words are cop outs of her own guilt, a way out.
Be who you are, I suspect you've out-grown her, she's just developing into a woman, still a girl and being 23, you should find someone closer to your age as at 23, I was totally different than what I was at 19 as well as a whole lot more grown up, to play these silly childish games.

I’m sorry for your break up, but I think you’ll be better off. Its not right to speak badly about someone after you break up, or any time for that matter. I agree with CW, your ex sounds very immature. As for shyness, (I never had that problem, lol), but there are a lot of women who would be attracted to a shy guy. It will be more of a challenge for you to meet and talk to new girls because of your shyness. You’ll have to force yourself out of your shell and push past your comfort zone a little. Are you shy in large groups, but then ok one on one? If so, that will determine where you should go to meet and talk to women.Comment
