    Why did he friendzone me?

Just a warning, if you don't want to read a long story don't proceed. I'm a decently attractive slim girl. I'm not a model but I'm not ugly either, just an average girl next door type. There was this college guy who started flirting with me, he was really touchy feely in the beginning, went to the same events as me and suggested to meet regularly one on one. I was also flirty, I agreed to it but he never made any plans, nor did I. It was ambiguous so my answer was ambiguous as well. I thought to myself he's not serious if he didn't ask about details and thought he was just joking with me to embarrass me later.

I started treating him like air, pretending I don't even see him (even if he was right in front of me) because I was so mad. He noticed me withdrawing, he started staring at me and coming up to me, he would say some weird shiet like "you never liked me", making me even more confused. Then there was a holiday break and we didn't contact each other at all.

After the break I noticed he was still staring at me. I was tired of wondering so I asked him out for a coffee. He didn't answer but he was still flirty. I thought alright he doesn't want to. Then he began saying hi to me regularly so I decided to talk to him again. We were talking and he was texting me first regularly for months. In total I asked him out maybe FOUR times. It didn't bring any result but he was still texting and sometimes these texts had a flirty vibe. Irl he was avoiding me, literally running away whenever he saw me. Then the same day he would text again. I called him out on it and he was always like "when did it happen? I never ran away"... He stopped reciprocating physical contact too.

Finally I got pi.s.s.ed again, told him I have no more precious time to waste because he's indecisive and manipulative so either we go out or he should leave me alone and waste someone else's time. He turned mean, started flirting with another girl in front of me. Later I told him sorry and explained I said it out of anger and had a reason to react that way. He replied "you never know what people are going through", texted me "occupy yourself rather than wasting your precious time" and told me he never had any negativity or issues with me and doesn't have any now. I thought he was just angry so then I asked irl for the last time if he wants to meet in a more than friends context or not. He said no, we're just good friends and asked if I'm okay (as if he didn't know what he was doing all this time..) After that he only said hi once, possibly to lure me back in, then he stopped.

Was he ever interested in me or was he playing me from the beginning? Could he possibly be gay? I noticed on his ig he likes photos of guys. Some of these photos are shirtless guys (but only with their neck visible). He follows a lot of men in general. Many of them are the stereotypical "pretty boys" and make you wonder if they even like women.. I never noticed him talking to girls much, he usually talks to guys only. I doubt he has a gf because he texted me really often, in night hours too. From what I've seen he spends a lot of time with his friends.

I keep blaming myself wondering if I did something to make him lose interest completely. Even if I was also playing games I was finally honest, I tried to make it up to him, the acting like he doesn't exist etc. I even apologized and told him I acted like that because I felt played. I had asked why he even seemed interested in the beginning. He didn't care, he called me crazy, told me I'm dramatizing, making things worse, overthinking, making false assumptions, added that I'm out of my mind and that he doesn't know what I'm talking about, then of course friendzoned me face to face. At the same time he said he's not angry or anything. He often acted arrogant, walked with his head up high and looked down his nose at me. Is he just an a...ole who led me on from the start? I wasted over a year of my life chasing him, it's insane. Not to mention how many times I've wondered if I'm so ugly and disgusting that a guy avoids me as much as he can, even if I usually think of myself as pretty. It really took a toll on my self-esteem. I don't understand.

If nothing else, he’s telling you it doesn’t bother him when his actions leave you feeling hurt and confused. I doubt that’s what you’re looking for in a partner or a friend.

I understand everything simply from my point of view, you don't have to be bitter about anything and no one should be spared and reply to him beforehand, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
