i agree with RED FLAG
if he is 35 what age are you?
maybe thier is a age gap and is a bit shamefull?
maybe the idea of co-worker relationship is all he wants?
maybe he has another g/f or possibly married?
maybe he is just the type not to show alot of emotions from past expierences?

did you talk to him about any of these questions or others that might be a topic?
communication is very important. if your affraid to ask him, its understandable, but also becasreful of his answers, they can go either way.

but to be honest, these are red flags of some sort so you have alot of thinking to do.
