It seems like you've made sacrifices for him, like quitting smoking. Ask him to make sacrifices for you. Relationships involve give and take. One person cannot do all the taking while the other does all the giving; it has to be equal. If my husband smoked pot, and I asked him to stop, he'd stop out of respect for me. I have friends that do it, too, but I choose not to, even when they do it around me. I don't know if it's legal where you live or not, but if it's something you don't want him doing, you have a right to express that to him.

Same goes with the job situation. He has to help you carry the load, it's not fair that you support the relationship financially. I can understand being in a band as a hobby, but there comes a time when people need to grow up and get real jobs. Tell him that you support his talent, but you really need him to help you by getting a job. Tell him how burned out you are, and if he cared about you, he wouldn't make you support the both of you alone.

i agree with pretty much everyone....you should take a step back and make sure this is the life you want. maybe that would open up his eyes also....show him that he needs to shape up if he wants to keep you.
