There was another poster here Thack, whom wrote also, deployed, although he is back home for a while.
He had a baby too, was married as well, she cheated as well...
I may suggest for him to write on this thread to you... May help you..because it was tough for him as well..
It's difficult because she is a "prior addict" and also because, she obviously couldn't cut it alone...
I'm so sorry you have to go through this, when at least we can go to family, yet your on your own...

I am very sorry to hear that you are going through this right now, and I for one commend you for what you are doing, fighting for our country, and I thank you for that. I think that in all honesty you may want to think about leaving her, I do understand that you have had a baby with her but you should not allow your child to live through that and also for you to live through that. Drug addiction is a vicious cycle and sometimes it has no end. Hopefully for your sake and the baby's she is able to come to terms with what has happened to her in the past and hopefully she will be able to stay clean, talk to her every day if you can i know that its hard, write her e-mails about how much you love her and support her, but it's going to be hard. You have to let her open up to you and I for one know from experience that its really hard to do that especially when it comes to certain things. I really do hope that everything works out for you.Comment

Good for you.
You don't need that worthless woman anyway.
God bless her, but she isn't worth your time or effort.Comment

When a heart gets broken, the person whom broke it is everything under the sun.
No one however, is "worthless".
People lose their way and can't find the road to recovery, or don't want to find it due to pain, or addiction.
How much help did this girl get to start with? MIL suggested you help but how far did they help before you arrived.
I'm not condoning what she did, but you state you knew of her addiction when you both met.
She is going to be your child's Mother for years to come, granted you may gain custody, but will this tip her over the edge?
As much as you don't want to have compassion, consider accepting you don't want a cheater as a wife, consider accepting that you will ask for custody, but also consider forgiving ( not forgetting) because, she probably didn't realise she did what she did until after and definately needs help. Consider doing something people wouldn't think off... Leaving but still helping her get over her addiction.
