Actually you are wrong, I just spoke with a Lawyer and the Health insurance HR dept. He can not cancel me at all until the divorce is final. And obviously he has to give me notice. He was also told the same thing today when he checked. Your reply was a little abrupt and not appreciated. So much for support. Every state is different, and insurance companies also have different policies.

This would be handled differently from state to state depending on how the laws are written. You need to get to an attorney immediately. They can file an injunction to stop him and force him to keep insurance on you until the divorce is settled.

I did hire one thank go that's how I found out the rest of the info. Some people just like to judge apparantly and think something like this is easy after being with someone for 10 years. The lawyer was actually very helpful and told me things that I didn't know. My hus is a little worried now and has stopped threatening to cancel the insurance, he also said that we didn't need lawyers and we could do it ourselves Lol. I said no way, i want to be protected. Hiring a lawyer doesn't mean I'm taking him for all he's worth, and honestly I don't want to. We don't have children or any assests together so it should go rather smoothly as long as he doesn't threaten anything. It's all such a pain to be honest.

No I am not wrong. Divorce proceedings have not started...therefore there is nothing legally keeping him from changing his insurance policies...life/health/business.

Simply put - he can quit paying his premiums....and get himself an individual policy. There's ways around everything.

Didn't mean to come off abrupt.

Yes, and I've sold insurance for the past 6 years and am licensed in 5 states. He is the owner of the policy and can make any changes he wants. All he has to do is call up customer care and make up a little white lie...if he gets a CSR in a rush they'll do anything.

My educated response is not appreciated? I'm trying to help you so you don't go into this blindly.

Typical - give someone advice they don't want to hear and they lash out at you.

Dude, you read her post right? Going separate ways doesn't apply when someone -- much less her husband -- acts with so little compassion. He deserves all the payback she can dish out.

There are two sides to every story...and we have no input from her husband.

And FYI - going separate ways should *always* apply. Burning someone or getting revenge for your own gratification is weak. WEAK. All that ends up in situations like these is a happy lawyer with a big check.

There is no gratification. We can't speculate, as stated, there are "two" sides to every story. This is true.

From what the threads state, other threads as well:- for those that are not sure of the total circumstances of what the poster has offered, as to the reason for this particular thread:-

This lady was with this man for 10 years, she paid for everything...

They got married 5 months ago, he then had an affair with no less, a friend of hers that was also a contributer in her wedding..

He did not want reconciliation, he packed her stuff and he is now living with friends as he can't afford a place to rent, he has no money, she paid for everything in the marriage and before...and he still has items that belong to her.

She is not burning him, they own nothing. She is ensuring that she "does not" pay for anything else, and lets face it, cheating is also an emotionally horrible thing for anyone to have to go through, if she wants to be bitter, that's her prerogative.. I would be.. cheating sucks.

She's not weak, in my opinion, she is strong and ensuring that she doesn't pay for the Divorce, nor the Insurance, it's not revenge rather her right.. She's paid enough.

We don't judge... and we reply to the person who writes, the other person is never here after all and so we can only form opinions on what we are reading and reply to that.

It's just the way Forums are.

I personally don't care what their relationship was like, whether she contributed to him wanting to cheat, it's not important... He cheated.. Full stop... He didn't want reconciliation, full stop... He is now trying to cancel her insurance because he has to pay for the wedding that he took a loan out for.

In my opinion, he's the one that is seeking revenge, yet he is the one that made the mistake.

Mr baja I agree, he is/has shown no compassion whatsover, but I don't believe in payback..

Rather, what comes around goes around... much better to let the Universe do it's stuff!

I think you mean, he deserves to pay... as he never did and he cheated and he's trying to leave her high and dry....
