Hi there, I think you need some help/support as well. I really don't know your situation other than what you have described but I know that sometimes our "gut feelings" can take us down the wrong path. Take a look at the evidence and you have quite a bit. I would suggest that you take some time to calm down - maybe take the kids to your mom's for a couple of days. When you're feeling calmer (which I know is not easy in this situation), you will be able to see things more clearly.

Do you love your husband? Do you feel loved by him outside of this event? If not, do you feel like you even want to work things out? You two need to have some private time to have a heart to heart talk and find out the answers to these kinds of questions. Maybe you would both consider trying marriage counselling or maybe not. Because you have two little ones involved, I would be careful not to rush into any rash decision or action. Just make sure you think things through before you react in a way you may regret later.

Marriage is not easy and people who choose to marry do so usually for very strong reasons. Maybe you two can reconnect and spend good times together as opposed to separately. Has your husband demonstrated trustworthiness as a character trait up to this point? Are you aware of him no being truthful with others? Stop, think, talk, make a plan either way. Most of all, take care of yourself as your little ones need a healthy momma.

If you choose to leave, get all the facts before you do. Find out about Family Law in your area and make an informed decision. You may be entitled to spousal support so you don't have to feel "trapped" if in fact this is the case.

I'm sorry but I can't hold my tongue on this one. Your husband gave up all rights to "ask" you to do anything, when he cheated. You need to take control of this situation. How nice it is for men when they cheat and then don't want to talk about it. Women are supposed to sit back and say nothing or try to figure out "why" he cheated. Please, he cheated because he wanted to...

I've been reading your posts and thinking... Why is it so often that a Husband cheats? Yeah, they all have thier own different reasons etc etc and we can try and figure out what was the Reason in our case and some women even tend to say that it was their own fault because they were not good enough or didn't behave in an appropriate way and didn't make thier husbands happy. I disagree completely. I might be naiive but I still believe that marriage is something very special and if you commit yourself to another person you have to try and make it great for both of you for as long as possible (hopefully forever even). I just can understand neither men nor women who cheat on their spouses. There are no excuses for this. If you are still together you have to do your best to make your other half happy! And if you don't want to do this anymore why stay together?.... Cheating just because "I WANT" due to this/that/etc... We are all humans and we all have difficult times but even if we are very unhappy with each other at the moment and want comfort from smb else badly doesn't give us the right to cheat. Cheating is a weakness. I am no saint myself and yes, I did cheat on my boyfriend once and yes I was 17 then:-) And I know it was wrong and not going to defend myself by saying he was an idiot and I was so awfully young and stupid. I was just weak then And I know that if I found out that my husband cheated on me I'd be devastated for a long time but I try to hope that at some point I would have just understood that he is weaker than me and that was the reason. What next I do not know and hopefully I never will but knowing myself I think I would have tried not to stay with him. Because such things can be forgotten but doubtfully forgiven and they always stay somewhere at the back of our minds. Obviously situations can be different and when children are involved it makes things much more complicated. But every problem has a solution and any pain goes sooner or later and we have to be Strong and believe in ourselves to deal with our lives no matter what happenes!
P.S. my parents divorced after 22 years of marriage because of cheating and some other serious problems they had.. Worked out for the best for both of them in the end. Even at the age of 50+.

I totally agree with you BD. And I must say, you give helpful advice!
