If you trust your husband, continue to trust him. Be aware of little things like this, but don't let them ruin what seems to be a loving, trusting relationship - something you should both be proud of given the amount of time you can't spend together. Little seeds of doubt are what will ruin what you've got. Make sure it is worth it.

If I were you, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. You've said he has given you no reason to be suspicious, don't punish him for some oddball thing like this. The payment wasn't even from his own card... yes it is odd that he's got a receipt in his pocket, but stranger things have happened (corey's example is one of them!)

If I were you, I'd might actually google this tanning salon place. Just to see if it's a "tanning salon" or something else... That would concern me more than if it's something for a g/f.
I'm more with BD and HD on this one, as one can't help avoid thinking like this after having been burnt in the past. It doesn't mean it has to lead to an argument/interrogation/serious doubt, but some of us think like that.Comment

Yeah, I'd be suspicious as well. I've been told cover up lies before, and gave the benefit of the doubt, even though i thought it was far fetched ("doing it for a friend" kind of a thing) only to discover the ugly truth later. Unless you can figure it out on your own though, doesn't sound like he is going to fess up about it. Can you talk to the girl?Comment

Unless you have other things to point to a problem, don't turn it into one. I've been screwed around on plenty. You can't transfer what man did to another. Someone who is convicted and punished before he's tried, may be pushed into doing it. If you have already paid without doing it, why not?Comment

I just don't see a likely scenario where this is suspicious. The only way it could be is if he has a "secret" credit card. In that case though he would need to be writing checks to cover that card.
It seems really unlikely that he would buy a month's service at a tanning salon for a girl - a very strange gift. Jewelry or something would be a lot more likely.
It is possible that the "tanning salon" is really a front for prostitution - but that seems pretty unlikely as well. Wouldn't someone pay cash at a place like that? Wouldn't it have a more harmless cover story? Why would he go 100 miles away for that anyway - I don't think there is anywhere in the world where you need to go 100 miles to find a prostitute.
It is possible to concoct a story, but I think you are best off just dropping it.Comment

Could he have been looking for a piece of paper to write something down/calculate something and his friend handed him the reciept or the reciept was in the near vacinity so he picked it up to use it for scratch paper, didn't need it and just put it in his pocket? I have a habit of doing things like that. If the payment wasn't made with your hubby's debit/credit card and the woman is his friends girlfriend I don't think you have anything to worry about.Comment

thanks so much guys. corey i think you're right i think it was just one of those funky things that happens that you really cant justify how exactly it happens. im thinking this is the case because when i brought it up i didnt mention the receipt i asked him the girls name and without hesitation he said it was his friends gf. then i asked about the receipt and he was baffled so i think that, like you said, it was just one of those things... and you all are right and there's no reason for me not to trust him. yes, we don't get to see eachother a whole lot and i just kind of put it out of my mind there's no sense in worrying about something silly unless there's a big red flag. since we share a bank account i can see whatever transactions go thru and if he were trying to hide something there would atm withdrawls or something and there isnt so im thinking its not a big thing. im thinking (and hoping) this was just a one in a million situation where something crazy happened and he got some random receipt hahaha. so far that's what its looking like. thanks everyone for you input =]Comment
