My wife got me an ipad for our last anniversary. I know it's not extremely creative, but it's actually made my work and ministry easier. The weight of my bags has decreased and I have been able to cut out a lot of books. It would have been hard for her to get me anything much better.

While I'm working and presenting to clients, I'm thinking about her and how much easier her gift made things for me. Can you get him a really nice tool or gear for work? It makes a man feel good. Maybe he can even brag to his workmates about how thoughtful his wife is while he's using it.

How about tickets to his favorite team. But not just any tickets. An away game so it involves travelling there and staying at a hotel. You can get matching T-shirts for the team so you can wear together while at the game.

If you really want to go all out, invite a few of his friends and see if you can make it a group getaway. Watching games are always better with friends and a little road trip will also be fun.

You could give him an accessory for gaming. There are special keyboards, there are also accessories that look like a steering wheel for racing games, some with pedals. Game controllers are nice toys for people who like gaming. You could also buy him some new games.

You could also give him something like miracast/chromecast/eazecast, or one that works only with your TV. He'd be able to play games from his phone, tablet, or computer, on the telly, without cables. Fast memory cards...

Perhaps it doesn't sound romantic, but if it is what he likes...

About the soccer connection, some kit from his favorite team, but he probably already has that. Or a season ticket.

Or go with the spicy ideas. Since you're dining out, after dinner, there could be a hotel night as a surprise, or something a little different at home.

I'm answering all your points in one post. I'll be out 9th anniversary (happiest 9 years of my life), yes I do expect him to give me a gift. I'm looking to buy him a gift and we are going out to dinner that night. Since we're comfortable financially so I have more disposable income to spend so I guess my budget is £100-300, my husband likes video games, sports particularly Football (Soccer) he supports Manchester United and Rugby (he supports London Irish), he loves hiking and camping.

I was thinking of making him a home made card of some sort that might make him feel special.

    Congratulations!

I give my man things he likes. Books are his favorite gifts. Do you think yours would like a book?

You could also give a spicy gift, like something you'd wear... for him...

If you're talking something expensive, a night at a fancy hotel, for the two of you to celebrate in kind.

If spicy isn't OK, you could give him a good watch, or something hi-tech.

    Happy anniversary!

It depends largely on him. What does he like? What would make him feel special and loved? What would mean something to him?

How many years? Also, do you have a budget range? Are you looking to buy him something nice or do something special.
