Thought id provide an update several months on...
I now satisfy my need to feel needed and important by being a part time equipment operator with the fire service. Im also managing my own property portfolio whilst being creative.
I am balls deep in therapy.
I am single but still very much a family man.
Last year I was Mr December in a naked serviceman calendar. I also did a butler in the buff night which was beyond strange.
I am happy for the first time in years and feel regenerated for life.Comment

That's wonderful, MrMr. I am certainly interested in your calendar!
Anyhow - to be serious - therapy does pay off. And I hope you're finding it does. I am glad, too, for your job with the fire service. Because for everything you went through, a lot of people do value people like yourself. You had a difficult job and needed the support when you returned. It will be an ongoing battle, but you're proactive and will get through the hardship you went through.
You've done well. And you're a family man, too.Comment

Therapy does work: I know this, too. I also think looking into oneself in life works. Being open to change always helps heal the heart. Taking care of yourself makes others feel more comfortable around you, too. I think you're a generally nice person, MrMr. Being an ex service man is something to feel pride at having been.
Good luck with the therapy and keep looking out for yourself. Because people DO like you: I am sure of this.Comment
