    as much as I was scared about doing insulin, it surprisingly doesn't hurt since the needles are so thin!

      Hi amy40, I hope you are becoming accustom to your new reality. I tested at 75 a few minutes ago from a finger prick and felt that I was actually lower as finger blood is slightly delayed so I ate some Smarties to counteract the low. Glucose tablets are what is recommended but Smarties are the same thing at a cheaper price and with better flavoring (dextrose is another name for glucose). I have found that I can start eating and my finger prick will not register the glucose increase for about 15 minutes. I wonder if your test system has the same delay.
