I bled constantly on the shot. I was bleeding for about 2 or 3 months. I almost had to have a blood transfusion because my hemoglobin was lower every time I saw my doctor (which was about once every 2 weeks so he could monitor my bleeding). Luckily, when it was time for my second shot, the bleeding stopped shortly thereafter. I did not get the second shot, I didn't want to risk it. Plus, it killed my sex drive. Yeah, it worked as a birth control, because I wasn't having sex! I wouldn't try it again. Injections are more risky, because it's not like you can rid your body of that contraceptive if you don't like it-you have to wait it out.Comment
