Quick Ortho Evra help Please =/

    Q: Ortho Evra question

I'm slightly paranoid and don't really understand something about Ortha evra, So I was hoping maybe someone else could help answer this for me. Background info might be that she has been using Ortho Evra perfectly for about a year.

My girlfriends period came around the 21st of december and ended about the 28, both sundays, and her day of application for the patch is always mondays, so on the 29th the patch was placed on. We ended up having sex on the second of january around evening time. I always use condoms with her birth control just to be safe, but this time it slipped off hanging about halfway out of her.(the condom didn't slip off while inside, just as I was pulling out). We don't think anything got in her at all, even though I climaxed in the condom because it wasn't inside her when it slipped. But we still are nervous in case it did. Just for safety we got Plan B morning after pill as well.

But what I am worried about is what the instructions say for the Ortho Evra, it seems the first week you are supposed to use protection with it anyhow, but I didn't know if because she has been using it for awhile if that affects her or not, or whether it is when someone is JUST starting or not. Either way, it was over 4 days, and I didn't know what that meant for her chances of being protected. Please let me know whether or not the birth control will be effective or not if anyone has any idea.

    Thanks a lot.
P.S. Sorry for the double post, I couldn't delete the other

I was on the Ortho Evra for a long time and I have never used a backup method (I am married). I have never gotten pregnant while using it. That week would apply when you are first starting birth control. It is highly unlikely she would be pregnant if she started the patch when she was supposed to.

Alright then, thank you very much, I tried calling the hot line for the product as well, they too said the same thing. Guess I am just very over paranoid. Thank you for the reply, it's well appreciated.
