Just started the pill and worried....

I started taking birth control on Tuesday, March 17. My doctor told me to double up on the pills the first few days by taking Sunday and Monday's pills that Tuesday and taking Wednesday and Thursday's pills on Wed, and start one pill each day after that. I was advised to still use condoms in the beginning, which I have been. But one evening I had a condom break. It was my 9th day of taking the pills, but I actually had taken 11 pills because I doubled up. I called the doctor the very next day and she said I would be fine, but I am still worried. I am on the 2nd day of the 7 "reminder pills" and I still have not started my period. I am very, very worried that something is wrong. Has anyone had an experience like this?????

You've only just started the pill and your body has to adjust to it, it's foreign, don't expect things to go "clockwork" immediately", your periods will come when the body adjusts to the pill...

Even at an older age, and having been on the pill for quite sometime, our bodies can stress and stop periods as well, as much as it can stop you for a bit.

Your Doctor has said you will be fine, and it would be highly un-likely stop stressing so your body can do it's job, the one we don't like at all, having our period.

Just chill. For one , you just started the stuff , so it will take some time to adjust . Also , on my current birthcontrol , I dont get my period as soon as I begin my "off" week ( NuvaRing , its supposed to be the same thing just I dont take pills everyday ) ... I actually have to wait a couple days for the hormones to clear my system before I get my cycle.

So expect some changes , and dont stress out. Keep in mind , as well , that pregnancy tests are available at most stores ... and EPT works even if you are on birthcontrol ... just in case you cant shake the feeling , you can take the test . Its $12 at Publix. But let your body adjust to the new pills first.

Dont worry yet, when i started my birth control i didn't start my period until two days after my reminder pills were gone. and i usually have my period start on the last 2 or three pills. just wait a bit before you start to worry
