Depo problems and pill info pleaseee
I have been on Depo for over a year, and I haven't minded it, but I have been noticing a tendency to be really dry, and bad cramps after sex is this going to get worse or does it jsut stay the same? Also i was wondering what you have to do to switch from depo to the pill is there a better time to do it? And does anyone know the effectiveness rate on the pill as well?Sorry lots of questions..... -
Stop taking Depo. It is one of the most harsh birth control methods on the market. It is well known for causing vaginal dryness, lowered sex drive, and painful intercourse. I know from personal experience too.
I am not sure what the procedure is with stopping Depo. I am guessing you would start taking the new birth control near the same time you are due for your next Depo shot. Your doctor would best know the answer to that though. -

I agree get off the depo, it way to harsh. Instead of the pill, if your worried about effectiveness because you might forget to take it everyday, go on nuva ring. Same idea as the depo just not so harsh. I've been on the ring for over a year and I've have no problems with it. You put it in vaginally for 3 weeks and one week off and start it all over again... so you don't have worry about it everyday.Comment

Nuva ring is like depo thats intersesting, I am thinking about switching but I am worried it will not be as affective as the shot I have been on the shot for 4 years and I want to remain childless for a while yet so I was just curious like she was how do you switch over, some horror stories about it and good ones as well Thanks Ladies

I had no prob. but then, I took depo, three months later, took it again,
didn't take it after that for a year, so what I did was only take two shots
back to back..then paused until my period came back...usually after a
year.
I never took it religiously.

depo not fun!
I tried depo for 3 shots -(october to July) I hated not getting my period - I spent so much on being nervous and buying tests that it was not worth it. We used NO protection since a second child was ok if it happened and it took 13 months to get preg. i want to say I didn't get period back until January. I don't remember any of the other mentioned side effects, but those are common with the hormone changes after pregnancy so I may have thought that was the cause.Comment
