Okay, I got my Ortho Evra patches like four weeks ago & put it on before I started my period. I don't really know what I was thinking.
But anyway, on the second week I got my period. Now I'm on my week off. I just took the patch off today.

I've had sex, but a few times we didn't use a condom.
Is this bad?
Would putting it on before I started mess up the hormones or something and make it where I could get pregnant?

Usually hormonal birth control is not considered to be at it's full effectiveness until at least a month and often 3 months after you start it. I haven't used the patch but with pretty much anything else the doctor will tell you to use a backup method for at least the first month. Hormonal birth control stops an egg from being released and the reason you bleed is simply withdrawal from the hormones in the birth control instead of the bodies usual reason of getting rid of the egg and lining to get ready for a new one. If you start it at a different time than suggested it may take a few cycles for your body to line up with the birth control which will result in break through bleeding and you could either already have an egg still present or ovulate during the week it's inactive instead of having your period. If you get your period during the week you don't have a patch on then there's nothing to worry about.
