I finally had my doctor appointment and she gave me 5 nuvarings free. Then we went to pick some stuff up and while I was carrying things into the house I forgot them in the suv. They sat overnight at below 10F. There is nothing on the label about not freezing them. Only about not letting them get too hot and that they are best kept right above freezing (36F) in the fridge. I searched around and it seems the manufacturer has no data on freezing them so people are just throwing them out in case. However I'm not sure I can get more. You think it would be a good enough test if I put one in just as my 3rd week of yasmin pills ended and wait to see if I get my period? If I don't then it should be releasing hormones right? Otherwise I will probably have to keep using yasmin and see if I can beg some nuvarings off the planned parenthood people. They are very annoying to deal with and claim I owe them $98 for a consult that was not at all helpful and forced me to go elsewhere.

Why not call the manufacturer and ask? There should be a number in amongst all the warning info. Better safe than sorry! -
People have. The manufacturer has no data on freezing nuvarings. They are leaving it up to health care providers to decide. The health care providers are overall telling people to get a new ring as a precaution although several have said it should be fine. There is no clear answer from anyone.Comment

My husband is going to ask when he drops something off at the doctor's office in town. I really don't think they are bad. I think everyone is just being very cautious. I can understand why though. I really don't want to get pregnant and in one month my husband is actually getting a vasectomy because we absolutely don't want children. I also really do want to switch to the nuvaring for the next few months until we don't need birth control anymore and I don't have money to get anymore of them.

Ask a pharmacist, they are trained to know the chemical part of things. They will know if the hormones are still stable at various temperatures. Doctors not so much, they just write the script and let you walk out the door with it.
