    ?'s for doctor? suggestions?

Hi, I posted on here a few days ago. Currently on depo..6 years running with ZERO breaks. I am experiencing major major psych side effects ....going to see my dr. for a consult on Saturday with husband. Curious if anyone has suggestions for questions I should be asking about these side effects (except the obvious 'how come no one told me') and also about other BC they may offer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm 33 but we are not ready to start a family. Curious also if anyone knows if not having had a child automatically "rules me out" for IUD? Thanks!

Some doctors dislike putting IUDs in women who have had no children and plan to have some. Mine did not have an issue since I do not want children. Usually they will still do it but will tell you the risk of complications is increased. Also the risk of it coming back out is much higher if you haven't had children or if you just had a child. While they can put it back in and try again personally I don't want to do that twice. It was painful enough having it put in the first time and then having it get lodged in my cervix on it's way out. I told them to throw it away and not put it back in.

There are tons of pills but if you want something you don't have to remember to take try a nuva ring. I finally got some and have had it in for more than a week. It took a bit to get it positioned right and I thought for sure it would be a problem having sex but not at all. My husband can feel it with his fingers but doesn't notice during sex so put it in and forget about it for 3-4weeks. Alot less effort and pain than getting an IUD.

Hi thanks for the insight! Since you are on the ring do you mind if I ask you a quick question? Can you manipulate your menses with it? That is one of the main reasons my dr. put me on depo in the first place. I would have the most horrendous cycles and end up literally bed ridden for 3-4 days a month which worked great before I was an adult with adult responsibilities!!
