    I'm getting frustrated!

ok so i have a doc appointment on thursday (01/07/2010) to talk to her about birth control. well i have had problems with dryness, so i went over a week ago to talk to her about changing my birth control. i was on yaz & i wanted to c if i tried something different, if the dryness would go away. she put me on the nuvaring. well i'm not liking it. it is rubbing my lips & i feel like i am walking with a bubble between my lips! not to mention i feel odd, like even if i were able to have sex with my husband right now, i wouldn't. i just feel so awkward with it, like i'm not even the slightest bit turned on as long as i'm using the nuvaring. so i have started looking at other things, my last resort being going back to the pill but if it comes to that i can live. ne ways, i don't like the sound of the depo shots, i don't like the results that seem to happen to majority of the women. i also do not want to use the mirena! i used it once & i got really bad ovarian cysts. so can i get a little help, your opinion on ur fav birth controls (i know everyone is different) but i want pros & cons. does ne one use the patch? how easy does it come off?
    guidelines: no mirena or depo
wanting to have a birth control that doesn't cause dryness.
i'm just starting to feel very very limited in my selections

What about the copper IUD? No hormones!

You shouldn't feel the nuvaring. If you do, then it's not placed properly. Where exactly is it sitting? It should sit waaaay up there around your cervix.

i still very nervous about ne iuds due to my last experience, i was doubled over in pain from the cyst. i couldn't even stand up straight. does the fact of with or without hormones make a difference as far as cyst.
yeah c the doc said the same thing, that i shouldn't feel it. but i have tried everything on god's green earth to get it further in but it won't go ne higher up. i'm constantly having to push the end back in, but even then it is still sitting out just enough r rub. i have been trying since new years to make it work but it just isn't. i actually feel slightly crampy with it. i'm so frustrated with that alone.

Airman i feel the exact same way. i've been on the nuvaring for about 3 months now (first form of birth control for me ever) and i too am suffering from dryness. I'm turned on by my bf but at the same time my body won't react he way it should or how it use too....
It is very fustrating and i would probably be able to live with the constant pushing the ring back in and maybe even the sensations of feeling it between my legs but my worst side effect is the constant yeast infections. I'm not happy with this paticular development and i plan on talking to my doctor about the patch.

update, well i am not using the nuvaring ne more. i went back to the ob today & she said the nuvaring was in the right place but as she told me i just didn't have enough room for it. so i guess u can be to short in that area for it. i switched to the patch. hopefully i will like it more
