    IUD strings question??

I got my Mirena put in almost 2 yrs ago and had to have the strings cut right after put in. They've been fine...to feel them you really have to go up. Well today I discovered that you can feel them with just a finger length. Does anybody know why the strings came down??

Sometimes the uterus varies in it's position during the month. Sometimes it's low and sometimes it's high. It happens to be too. Sometimes I have t really get up there to feel the strings and sometimes it doesn't take much.

Just being able to feel the string with less insertion doesn't mean much. What you need to know is if you can feel more string before reaching the cervix. That would mean more string is sticking out and the IUD has shifted. Otherwise it could just be your cervix moving around for various reasons or the strings were bent and now aren't. If you can feel more string sticking out you should see your doctor to have them check the position of the IUD.
