I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THOSE WITH BAD Experience's WITH IUD s--
Simply put, I have a suspicion that problems may occur more frequently in people who have sensitive skin or common and unusual skin conditions [i.e. keratosis pilaris (small red bumps, frequently found on the upper arms of children and adults, no itching/other symptoms)]. I have these suspicions for a number of reasons all of which are enhanced by my schooling - BS in Bio and Masters of Nursing in process. So question is, IF YOU HAD A BAD REACTION DO YOU FALL INTO THE SENSITIVE/IRREGULAR SKIN CATEGORY? ALSO IF YOU HAD NO REACTION WHAT CATEGORY DO YOU FALL UNDER?

Not *exactly* what you're asking, but I had KP before I got my IUD. Hasn't changed. Like I said before, great question!

I had a plain jane IUD for years without any problems. I have chemical sensitivities, developed clotting problems after years on the pill and have had a few bouts of eczema, which I got rid of years ago.
I suspect the problem is with the IUDs that are laced with hormones.

I'm not sure about hormones, due to the fact that paragard contains none. But clotting and depression/horomone sensitivity does seem to be the reason that most people are referred to it. KP is actually exactly one of the things I am talking about! I hope that a few more will post their reactions and thoughts!

Well I've been having a couple of problems triggered by IUD, recurring yeast and periods twice a month. Of course my doc doesn't think the IUD could possibly cause the second one... But IMO it's just too big of a coincidence to ignore.

And yes I do have those bump things on my arms, have had them at least since age 9 or so.

I had really bad exzema all my life and when I had my first son, it seemed to just go away. I've had the paragard in for almost 2 years now and a few months ago, I got my exzema back completely. And I do have fair, sensitive skin, so it might be the iud but I don't know.
