You body may not stabilize for a couple of months. It takes it a bit to get used to the hormones.
The brownish blood, may just be old blood, it happens to almost all of us.
Unless it is really concerning you, I would wait it out for a couple of months. If anything, call and at least talk to your Dr's nurse.

Every time I switched brands of pills I had breakthrough bleeding, up to a week. It wasn't heavy. If it gets heavier, or brighter, call the doctor. I spotted for 2-3 months after starting a new kind of pill, and still had regular cycles during placebo weeks. Like Lana says it wasn't anything a pantyliner or thin pad couldn't handle.
