How long does it take for sex drive to come back?

I was prescribed Aviane and started taking it in early November, 2009. Within a month, I noticed it was taking a really long time for me to have an orgasm, either by myself or with my partner (45 minutes to an hour, when it used to be about 20 max and much shorter by myself). Then, as time went on I noticed that, while I still had the drive for sex, my body wouldn't become aroused with foreplay, and if I had orgasms they were much weaker and I didn't feel much until the end result. Then, my drive itself took a nose dive and was completely gone by early April. This was causing me SO much frustration: one, because I've always had a high sex drive before, and two, because I'm still in the "honeymoon" period of my relationship with my partner and I feel like I'm missing out!

I discussed the situation with my boyfriend and I stopped taking the pill about a month ago. We used condoms for awhile and then I had the Paragard IUD put in two days ago, so I'm covered on the birth control now, and no more hormones!

Anyway, I am wondering how long it will take for my sex drive, sensitivity and orgasm intensity to return to normal? I suppose a month is too soon to expect any great change, but I was kinda hoping......I am scared that it's not going to come back! My boyfriend is going to have Carpal Tunnel or Rhye Neck Syndrome pretty soon, because he has to work so hard! Has anyone else experienced these same issues while on birth control, or even more specifically, the Aviane pill?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Would love to know about this too.. I'm stopping my BC for the same reason and wonder if my sex drive will return to normal.

We've had other women here who have regained their sex drive, it seems to vary as to how long it takes to get your system clean and rebalanced. I recommend lots of non sexual touching as well as lots of foreplay and play to speed things up.

I suppose he could use fingers on both hands to keep away from the carpal tunnel problems, or in extreme cases, could get wrist braces. As for the Rhye neck, he could use different positions and head motions to keep from locking the muscles too much.

Is there anything about sex that gets you going these days? If there is, it could be used to get you aroused and make it somewhat easier on your boyfriend.
