Should I take the Plan B pill?

Hi ok heres the story I've been on birth control for about 3 weeks (im taking ortho cyclen) and I decided to have unprotected sex with my boyfriend and he ejaculated in me. Should I take the Plan B to be sure? Im pretty new to this birth control thing. Oh and I do take my pills everyday and I've never missed 1.
    Thank you

I think they say that you should be on the pill for a month before having unprotected sex, so you are cutting it a bit close. However I don't know how safe it is to take plan b while on birth control pills so be sure to mention to the pharmasist what you are currently taking and for how long to see if there would be any adverse affects.

You can also look up your specific birth control and go to their website and read about its effectiveness and when it takes effect.

How long has it been since you had sex? If it's within 72 hrs you can still take the Plan B, if not.. then the window is gone. I too agree that only 3 weeks is not enough, but it depends on when you started the pill. Did you start it on the first day of menstruation or did you start after? If you started while still menstruating it's usually 7 days before not needing a backup but it depends on the pill. See what your packet says in terms of that.

In any case, if you want to ease your mind, take a test in 2-3 weeks. If stuff still persists go see a doctor if you can.

      Goodluck!
