Tubal ligation, women who have had one pls reply.

    Hi,

I am scheduled for a tubal ligation on June 25. I have had 5 children, 2 of which are now angels. I lost my last 2 babies a little over 6 mos apart. One was born still at 23 wks and the other was born at 14wks. I am not able to put my family through another loss. My husband and I are positive we do not want to go through this again. Therefore, I am going to get a tubal.

I basically wanted to know if you were happy with your tubal ligations? I am very nervous about my decision and I have read alot about PTLS (post tubal ligation syndrome). A few questions I have are how was your recovery? Has it changed your hormone levels, sex drive, or body in anyway?

Any replies are greatly appreciated as I am not taking this decision lightly. If I decide to cancel my procedure I have to give 2 days notice so I will not be charged a $300 cancellation fee.

    Please reply, Thank you!

Sorry about your losses. That's an awful thing to go through.

I had a tubal Feb 2008. The best thing I have ever done. I feel so much better getting the hormones out if my body. My sex drive just gets higher and higher. I do not regret it one bit.

As far as recovery. Easy. I was out of the hospital in about 6 hours. A little sore for a couple of days, but I also had a D&C at the same time.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

      PTLS

      Hello,

Having the losses you have is something that no person should ever have to go through and my heart goes out to you. But, if there is another option other than tubal ligation I would go with it. Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome is something that has been around for years and it seems that more and more women are speaking out about it now more than ever. PTLS is something that you do not want to tangle with. Not only did my mother suffer with this here is a great read on women who have suffered and give their stories.

I hope this helps in your decision.

I had a TL on July 9th!!! I was sore the first 3 days, but as each day goes by it gets better and better. I am sooooo glad i did it and greatful to be off of hormones I am taking it easy for the next 3-4 weeks to make sure i heal internally and externally in the proper way.
