essure problems
I had the essure device put in over a year ago and i have been sick ever since. I have always been a healthy person. Since the essure was put in i have experienced weight gain, severe night sweats, headaches that pain pills will not touch. My blood pressure is so high that i am now on medication. Mood swings and lethargy. I have had c.a.t scans and numerous lab work done. I went to see the doctor that done my essure and when i insisted that i needed the coils removed he told me i was crazy and that he was done with me and threw me out of his office. Im currently on medical leave from work because im so sick. I am covinced that the essure is making me sick. I want it out. even if it means having a hysterectomy. I dont want anymore kids. Has anyone eles experienced this??? -
Welcome to the Forum.
I would have moved this thread to essure failure however, it's a different question to that as you don't really know.
I've gobsmacked that your Doctor refused and threw you out of the surgery. That suggest that he may have put them in in-correctly and is fearful of a lawsuit.
When you say you had a cat scan would that detect, coils moving, not in correctly?
Before you have it out, I would suggest you have a "different" doctor conduct test to see if this is the problem and have all of that recorded.

Hi! I am sorry you are having problems. I suggest that you ask your drs if they are willing to guarantee that those metal coils will do no harm to you. I suggest that they sign something stating that there is no way that those metal coils can be the problem. You might also contact Conceptus and ask them to sign something guaranteeing the metal coils or that they pay for the removal. You also need to make a report to the FDA. I know that sounds drastic but it looks like it takes drastic measures to get drs to respond when there may be a problem with the metal coils. I have faced the complete refusal by drs to look into the coils as being the problems, to the it's all in your head. I had to get aggressive. There wasn't nearly as much info out when I had mine removed & I was scared. I was scared to say or demand too much because I didn't want to make the drs mad but I wish I had thought to ask them to sign something. I wonder if I'd gotten proper care sooner.Comment

Ladies,
Just had the Essure done a week ago... I'm also having issues with it. I only had one coil done, the other ovary and tube was removed sevaral years ago. The pain/cramping is on my left side.. Do you think it's too early to be alarmed? I havn't had bleeding, but if the pain doesn't go away, I want these things out!Comment

According to Conceptus & the drs this procedure is supposed to have very quick recovery time. It is advertised as most women are able to resume normal activites the next day. This is not supposed to be a major surgery. In my opinion you shouldn't still be having pain. You might wait several weeks & the pain might go away but you shouldn't have to endure pain for weeks for something that is supposed to be so simple. I waited & kept telling myself maybe it would be better. After 2 weeks, called dr & he said no way could the metal coils be the problem. Waited another week, went back to dr. He said no way could metal coils be problem. Went to another dr. They were able to remove them without hysterectomy.Comment
