women on "the pill", I need help!
I am a product design student and i am in the process of designing a pill case that will possibly have an alarm... im not sure yet, i need some info from women, preferably girls in high school who are on the pill. does anyone forget their pill sometimes and end up taking it at different times each day? or even skip days? please let me know why it is hard for you to remember? what time do you try to take it? why did you start taking it? and any other info you would like to share. anything will be greatly appreciated -
I am not in high school (25 yrs old), but I always took my pill right when I got out of work and into my car. That way it was routine...get outta work, get into car, take pill, go home. Somtimes on weekends I would forget, but I would never take it any later than 2 hours late. I might be different from high schoolers, and I don't want to class all high schoolers together, but I have a lot of plans for my future, and I was very responsible for my pill, as I had sex with my boyfriend without condoms. I would think the only way to really get women to take it everyday at the same time, is to literally put a timer and soft alarm built into the pack. Kind of like an alarm on a watch, but more discreat so not everyone looks like "Whats that". -
Typically it's chosen at a set time as everyone has some repeat in each day, for example, I take mine just before I go eat dinner...It would probably be best to have an alarm on a mini pill pack as that needs to be taken within a three hour gap but combined pills are up to 12 hours..Not saying it can't happen but you're unlikely to forget for the whole twelve hours. I only ever forget when I forget to eat dinner (which is quite often) but I still remember before 12 hours!
I take the pill for menstrual suppression..I used to have an eating disorder and my periods stopped altogether. Whenever I got them itwas a sign I needed to eat less so it prevents me reverting to my old ways.
I agree with Lizzard...no beeping pill packets please!Comment

I'm in college, not high school. I went on the pill when my then-boyfriend, now-fiance, and I had been together for a while and we were getting tired of using condoms. I've been on it for about two years, and I am very careful about taking it. I take it in the morning wen I brush my teeth since I always brush my teeth in the AM and that is a good reminder.
I have used my cell phone alarm to remind me to take it on some days, such as weekends and/or when I am sleeping over--basically anytime that I am not following my usual morning routine. I think that a cell phone alarm is more discreet than one built into a pill case. My fiance obviously knows I'm on the pill, and so do a few close friends, but other than that I don't like advertising the fact.
