Ok. I know there are topics about this subject already, but I get so confused and I really don't want to screw this up. I am getting married on October 9 2010. I just started my period last night (Sept 13) and also took my first birth control pill (the first one on the row that says "start"-I think its the gray pill). As of right now, my period will start on the 13/14 of October and my periods are usually very regular to the day. However, this is right smack in the middle of our honeymoon and I would very much like to change this. I would preferrably like to have it before the wedding, but if I can't that's no big deal-as long as it is not during the honeymoon.

Now, I was told that what I could do is go ahead and take the pills from the beginning when my period starts and then stop taking them like around the 25th of September and then my period should start again about 2 days later. Then, once my period starts, start a new pack and take like normal.

Would this work? If not, what do I need to do? Thank you so much!

When you get to the pills that you're supposed to take during your period, just start a new pack and take them the same. Then you'll get your period on the next go around.

Still confused. Which color are those? I am on my period right now-and I just started taking the gray ones. When you "when you're supposed to start your period" do you mean when I want it to start? Like on Sept 25 start a new pack?

No, skip the gray ones and keep taking the active pills.

The active pills are the ones that have the most in the pack. If there are say 20 grey and 7 white, then the 20 will be the active pills...those are the ones that will prevent ovulation and therefore prevent you from having your period. Each type of birth control is different when it comes to the colors so your best bet is to read the instructions on the pack to see which are the active and which are the inactive. Remember that inactive means period, active means no period. So in your case you will want to keep taking the active pills during your wedding and honeymoon.
