I had the copper IUD and it caused me a ton of pain in between periods even. I know the Mirena is different but they ARE the same hormones as regular birth control pills, it's too risky. Do you know for a fact that it doesn't cause any of those side effects, like with sources that say so?

Not to mention the IUD caused me to have continuous yeast infections. Blech!

Well i have the Mirena, and actully i have been pretty happy with it, i mean id rather NOT be only any birth control but thats not a option for me, anyways i havent had any issues with it, and i was having those same issues with pills. Face it birthcontrol is always a pain in the u know what, its hard to find something that works, there is always a issue with whatever you choose. I work for a Pharmacy also and we specialize in the dispensing the Mirena, we are a mail order pharmacy, and i honestly have only heard good things about the Mirena, and plus i have it. I used to have the Paragard, actully i had it for one mnt, and decided it needed to be removed, that thing is HORRIBLE! The Mirena did cause me to have any yeast infections, but that is not on the side effects list. Only you and your dr can decided what is good for you
