    I got switched

I was using Yaz but got switched to the generic, Gianvi. I have a couple of questions.

    a) Since it's a new "pill" (even though it's supposedly the same active ingredients) should I use another form of birth control for a month while my body adjusts to this pill?

    b) Do I just start up the new pack as if I would a new month on the regular Yaz?

    c) Has anyone had issues from switching from Yaz to Gianvi? I know that not everyone can handle Yaz, but I'm afraid that the generic may cause issues for me. I am doing so well on Yaz, and afraid that I might not do so well on Gianvi because of a different filler. (Yes, I'm that sensitive)

    Thanks!

The pills will be the same the difference comes from which company sells them. The more known the name the more expensive the brand as with any product.

If you just finished your regular Yaz pack and now you have the new Gianvi pack in your hands then yes you can start right away as though you were still taking Yaz. As long as you have not been off Yaz for a couple months (which would mean the pill is out of you system) there is nothing to worry about when it comes to your body getting used to Gianvi.

The Gianvi should not cause any problems because again it is the samething as Yaz. But if you want to put your mind at ease there is nothing wrong with using condoms for a week or two.

The same reason most people get switched the generic-
Costs less on the insurance plan.

I'm hoping that Secret is right and I should transition into Gianvi okay. I'm just worried cause it took me forever to find Yaz..

Though actually I was thinking that when these refills are done I may see if I can get a hormonal IUD. Not that I miss my pills or anything, but I'm curious.
