My husband and I had sex sunday, and then again on tuesday with out pulling out, I am taking bc pills and take them regulary at the same time everyday for the past two years now, but today I am on the blue side and have the flu, i threw up and was wondering if my pill still works I take it at 7:00 am and it is now 11:50 when I got sick, I am wanting to know if it is in my system, since sperm can last up to 3 to 5 days in your body. should i worry about getting pregnant or am I just being paranoid. please help fast thanks

If you take them at the same time everyday than chances are you're fine. And if you're throwing up it's probably from the flu. But you know the only way to find out if your pregnant is by doing a pg test.

It should have been in your system long enough before you threw up to disolve and work it's way into your system. If you want to be COMPLTELY sure I would call your doctor that prescribed you the pills and often times his nurse can talk to you and give you the information that you need or often times doctors office's are busy and you may have to leave a message for a call back. If you want an immediate answer call the pharmacy and they should be able to answer any and all questions that you may have. Just speaking from knowledge of the digestive system, if you take the pill everyday at the same time like you are supposed to and your main concern is when you threw up, the almost 5 hours that the pill had been ingested it should have been digested by then. Hope that helps a little.

Need to know what? If you're pregnant? Or if the pill caused you to get sick? Or if you have the flu? Or if you have to be worried about getting pregnant?

Your thread wasn't as clear as it could have been which may explain why people viewed it and then didn't reply. It's not unusual to get hundreds of views without many replies. There are threads in here with thousands of views and not very many replies.

I think JadedQueen told you correctly and directly what to do. If your concern is about being pregnant, take an at home test. If you're afraid that you still might become pregnant from the activity you've shared here, it's unlikely. Did the pill cause the flu? Nope, it's a virus and generally exists in or near the air of someone who already has it (sick co-worker, etc.). Can the pill fail? Yes, as most BC are only 98% safe.

The best method of avoiding pregnancy is abstinence, then the use of the pill with a condom.

I hope you are feeling better soon.
